We can pick you up between 08am and 10pm, but if your flight is earlier or later, please contact us and we arrange a taxi for you (costs are own responsibility).

Not at all. We choose to use small vans instead of big RV’s or motorhomes to make it easier to explore all of the beauty Portugal has to offer. Our campervans almost drive like normal cars and all of them have parking sensors for some extra support. They have a small footprint so it’s easy to drive through small village streets or to cool secluded area’s in nature. It’s so liberating not to worry about the size of your vehicle while travelling in a new country and exploring.

There are really nice campgrounds in the area where you can sleep legally. Most campgrounds cost between €7,50 and €25,- per night, also depending on the season. Wild camping is partially allowed, but not in natural parcs where you can be fined. Please act responsible and don’t ride through nature to get the best spots or leave any trash. We like nature and you probably do too, so please take care.

Yes, on the highways there are automatic toll ports. All our vans are equipped with special toll readers, and at the end of your stay we will charge you directly with a handling fee of €15,- if used.

Yes, no worries. Crossing the border through Spain is always included. It is possible to travel further afield, but you’ll have to send us a request via email before your trip begins. If it’s approved, we will send a confirmation email.

First of all, we service our vans very well and they are almost new so there is very little change that you will break down during your holiday. If this occurs, firstly make sure the car is in a safe place, and  if not possible, then call 112. After that please call us at +351 912 821 829. We will support you in getting a solution as soon as possible. Of course our vans have breakdown recovery service, so we are backed with professional support.

Yes there is. We have a minimum of 7 days for renting our vans. We don’t have fixed days for arrival or departure.

If you’ll stay longer than 21 days you’ll get a discount of 10%. Please contact us for a discount code.

We have a standard security deposit of €1.000,- which has to be paid at arrival. €1.000,- is also your own risk. Our coverage is very good so tires, cracks in windows etcetera, are insured. Please read our full terms here. If you would like to pay a lower deposit and have a lower own risk, you can arrange this online when you book or when you arrive. For just €15,- per day they are both lowered to a maximum of €500,-.

Cancellation must be made in writing or by e-mail. The date Outbase Explorers receives the cancellation letter is considered as the date of cancellation. Outbase Explorers advises the renter to take out travel and cancellation insurance.

The cancellation costs are:

1. In case of cancellation 8 weeks or longer before the start of the rental period: 0% of the rent, excluding booking costs.
2. In case of cancellation less than 8 weeks and longer than 2 weeks before the start of the rental period: 50% of the total rent;
3. In case of cancellation between 2 and 1 week before the start of the rental period: 70% of the total rent;
4. In case of cancellation 1 week or less before the start of the rental period: 100% of the total rent.

Returning the campervan earlier than at the end of the booked rental period will not result in a refund of the rental price (or part thereof).
